“Are current train designs fit for the 21st century?”
Neil Bates recently presented a short paper at the Paris Rail Summit.
Topic for discussion was: “Are current train designs fit for the 21st century?”
New trains with a lifespan of at least thirty-five years will have to address technical and commercial challenges the industry establishes, until 2050 and beyond.
What will customers want, from these trains and what will be needed to remove future barriers to travel and reflect the conditions which may exist in the future?
